One of the benefits at my new place of work is that they support physical activity, either by sponsoring you with about 500 US dollars per year that could go towards a gym membership for instance, or you can choose to take one hour every week off during work hours to go exercise. I have chosen the last option, since the hectic family life that has to be followed up after work don’t give much room for going to the gym. I have my stationary bike and dumbbells at home that works for me since I can do it when there is a free moment. I have yet to pick that habit back up after Christmas, with the new job starting and the traveling to Leikanger for job training, but I will. For now, I have taken on trying to get out for a walk one hour every week.

Today is the first day of snow in forever here, and it was so gorgeous. I have discovered that right next to where I work is one of the largest wood trails here in Bergen! Called Canada forest, supposedly named so due to the large and tall pine trees that reminded a Boy Scout troop leader who’s troop used these trails a lot back in the early 1900’s of the woods he had seen in Canada once.

Reading up on the area, it is also commonly used by paintball clubs in Bergen! I didn’t get too far today, given I had not planned this very well when leaving this morning, and had the total wrong clothes and boots on for a longer trail in ankle deep snow. Had I thought it through, i should have brought my cross country skis! I’m thinking this will be a wonderful place to hike once a week, especially come summer and spring. I could include my lunch into the time, and eat lunch up by the water for instance. I’m thrilled about this opportunity, as I crave spending time in nature on a regular basis for my spirit and mental health, and getting time to do so after work is not always easy! It is going to be a nice weekly retreat me thinks, with lots of photo opportunities!

No More Fitness Battles – Win The Fight Today

Fitness is not only exercise, it encompasses many different things. Things under the umbrella of fitness include workout systems, nutritious foods and exercise regimens. Turn away from the wall and distance it with approximately eighteen inches. Bend at the knees and slowly lean backward until the entire surface of your back meets the wall. Keep your knees bent and slide down the wall until your thighs are in a crouched position. Hold this position until you really can not handle it any longer.

Be sure you have a great pair of workout shoes before you start your exercises. When you are not wearing the proper footwear you can injure your back, legs, and feet. In addition, it will make you feel uncomfortable when you’re done, which can make you not want to exercise as much.

When you are using a bench, test the sturdiness of it first. Test the padding by pressing your thumb on the seat of the bench. If you feel wood or metal that is under the bench, get another seat.
