Counting calories is always a solid approach to getting fit. Paying attention to your calorie consumption helps you plan your workouts. If you keep your calories at a maintainable level, or below that, while losing some through working out, you’ll be more fit quickly.

Don’t lift weights for more than an hour at a time. Muscle wasting can begin in as little as an hour after starting an intense workout. So aim to keep your weight-lifting workouts shorter than 60 minutes.

Maintain a daily journal, recording everything you do. Write down your exercise, foods, drinks – all of it. Even write down the weather for the day. Doing so makes it easier to remember your highs and lows. If you skip a workout, write down your reasons.

Having a hard, defined six-pack will not be achieved through exercise alone. You can get bigger and stronger muscle tone with workouts that target your abs, but these are not going to reduce the fat in your midsection. For washboard abs, you need to improve your diet, do a lot of cardio and many ab exercises.

Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in during workouts. If you attend a gym, you might feel a bit of pressure to wear the trendy clothing, but you’re better off without it. Buy some clothes you feel good about working out in. If you wear the proper clothes for you, you won’t be distracted from your fitness routine by concern over your appearance.

You have to be skilled to be good at foosball, particularly with your hand-eye coordination. Once you have developed the skills for Foosball, you can transfer them to volleyball.

Weight Belts

Weight belts can be useful equipment for weight-lifting, but it should only be used for extra challenging lifts. Wearing weight belts too often can be bad for your abs and back muscles. It can lead to weaker core muscles, which can lead to injury.

You can even keep a daily journal which charts everyone’s progress so everyone can see the accomplishments. Have family members try activities until they find one or two at which they really excel.

You must ice the area in which you develop a muscle sprain. You can get rid of swelling and redness this way. Also, make sure to elevate the affected area to make sure blood still flows properly. Never place ice directly against the skin; however, always wrap the pack in a towel or cloth first.

Larger Muscle Groups

A set sequence in your exercises is advisable. Work smaller muscle groups with dumbells first, then larger muscle groups with barbells and move onto the machines last. According to many strength coaches, small muscle groups experience fatigue more quickly than larger muscles. Ending your workout with machines is a rational strategy. By this point, your smaller muscles are certainly fatigued, so it’s wise to focus on exercises that rely primarily on larger muscle groups.

Fitness is a common goal of many people and a tough one, but it doesn’t need to be as people often believe. As a matter of fact, it can often be quite fun. This is simply a bit of misinformation. Small things like increasing your water consumption and adding in a bit of daily exercise can have big results. So apply everything you learned today.

Everyone, this is the Rohe Family. We had a halfday photoshoot today. It was totally fun and awesome. They were even so very kind to allow me to post a photo publicly to my 365 project.

This shot was taken at the Powell st. BART station. We eventually made our way to the Westfield SF Mall, the Carousel, then an alley back in the Mission. It was quite an adventure. My wife aptly named it the "Personal Paparazzi Package"

Anyhow, hope everyone had a great weekend. Those who have sent emails through Flickr – I’m still getting to you, I promise.
